The MIP Project

The centralized system of Lebanon has created a gap between the government and its citizens, despite the presence of local authorities (municipalities and govern-orates).

This is leading to:

  • Indifference of young people in public matters related to their communities
  • Poor development of different areas in the country.
  • Stagnation in the decision-making
  • Waste of resources, energy and time
  • Increase and increase in corruption

With the financial support of the US Embassy in Beirut, EDGE for Lebanon took on a pilot initiative in 9 municipalities in Mount Lebanon to advance grass-root development steered by young people in collaboration with their municipalities.
